Ok, by no means is this new to me. I know about f stops, iso, shutter speed, the whole deal. I also know that 1.8 is shallow, but not that shallow nor that uneven. If what you say is true, please explain to me why the blurred effect in this photo
[link] is uneven. Her hair and eyebrows are not blurry, but her skin is? her skin that is closer to the eye than the hair and eyebrow? Doesn't make sense. My sister does photo manipulations for a living, so I have a pretty good eye, and my sister agrees with me on the editing of these photos. Also, you are talking to another eye photographer, I know what skin looks like when blurred naturally due to being out of focus, and that isn't natural. I know I take stock photos, but I still look at eyes enough and look at raw unedited photos of eyes enough to spot editing. I don't care if you admit that you edit or not. Just so you know, when someone who knows what they are doing looks at it, they aren't going to buy shallow depth of field, because when an object becomes gradually out of focus, it is done smoothly, a lot of the transitions in your photos are roughy and blotchy.
